Platform & business model

Free software. Services that make it work for you.

Use an individual tool today. Work with us when you need it to fit your data, systems or infrastructure. Our shared platform is the direction connecting these two ways of working with 42 tech.

The software should be free.

We want teams to work with electronics without buying a new software seat for every task. Free software is the foundation of our company-wide model.

Individual products define their current availability, limits and commercial terms. Free access is not a claim of open-source licensing.

Pay for the resources and expertise you need.

Storage, compute and AI usage have operating costs. Unique datasets, analytics, supplier connections, KYC and audits can add value beyond the tool itself. These are the resource and service categories in our model.

For a custom engagement, we separately agree the development, integration, deployment and support work. Using free software does not mean that an custom implementation project has no cost.

  • Storage, compute and AI tokens
  • Unique data and analytics
  • Supplier connections, KYC and audits
  • Individual development, implementation and support

Public tools or your own environment.

Our public products offer a way to explore specific capabilities. For a business implementation, we can design an on-premises deployment and integrations around your infrastructure and existing systems.

The project defines which components run where, how data is accessed and which external services, if any, are involved. Capacity, licensing, model choice and support requirements are resolved in that design.

A shared platform is the next step.

We are working toward closer connections between tools, data and services across design, purchasing and manufacturing. The aim is to make the work between systems and teams easier.

The shared platform is in development. Custom projects are agreed individually; a common account, automatic synchronization or unified billing should not be assumed to exist across all public products today.

A good starting point

  • Start with a product or a business problem
  • Choose deployment and integration around your requirements
  • Agree project scope and operating costs before implementation
